It was nearly 41 years ago that Michael Jackson’s video for “Thriller” burst onto TV screens, making a permanent impact on pop culture.
The video debuted on MTV in December 1983.
Today, we’ve learned the video has just hit the benchmark of one billion views on YouTube.
This is Jackson’s fourth video to hit a billion views, after “Beat It,” “Billie Jean,” and “They Don’t Care About Us.”
“Thriller” was also the first music video to be inducted into the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress, for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically” significant.
Seems appropriate to hit the milestone heading into Halloween, right, Throwback fans?!?
