The county is continuing to go ahead with a plan to create resort bubbles on Kaua’i after the Governor said counties could move forward with the plan. The collaboration with hotels on the island would use geo-fencing technology to allow travelers to quarantine at a resort, but not be restricted to their rooms. Mayor Kawakami says, “The 14-day quarantine has helped to keep the virus at bay, but we also know it comes at a cost.” The plan would help bring visitors to the state, while still protecting residents.
